Casey || Spruce Grove Newborn Photographer
Family has always been super important to me, and though perhaps my family may be oddly close – like so close that we must, at some point in time during the day touch base with each other … or FaceTime, or call … it is a part of day that I know I would be lost without. Now enter the reason behind this blog post. Kristie + Cole and their newest addition, Casey. Kristie is my first cousin, who is just an extension of my pack of sisters (along with her sister) – we oddly share the same Dirks quirks and find solace in knowing that when we need to talk about something in the world that no one else will understand our point of views .. hop on the group chat and bounce ideas off of each other. We are each others cheering squad, shoulders to lean on, and a sisterhood that is truly unbreakable. I was given the most incredibly strong and hard working women as family and I am pretty damn grateful for them.
So. Getting to the main reason of this post. When Kristie gave us the little ‘guess what’ .. we knew that her and Cole were expecting. I always got the updates, the good, the bad … the days where being pregnant could just be done and over with .. and the moment that they were heading to the hospital. Although their story had a rough start with little Casey and his under developed lungs .. he is home, he is strong … and he is freaking cute. I spent the good part of the day with these three – drinking some wine with Cole, eating yummy food and talking about ways to not starve to death when we have too many things to do in a day. Watching them as parents – proud proud parents, makes my heart so grateful to be allowed to photograph and share in this little mans life. I am so excited for you guys, for this huge adventure you are embarking on .. and I know that Opa Casey is looking down at his little namesake and is SO proud.
World. Meet the cute and hopefully athletic (as Kristie hopes) Casey.
