If you ever want to know why I have never JUST called myself a ‘wedding’ or ‘family’ photographer .. moments/days like this. Maybe it’s me and my inability to just do one thing all the time, but when you get to photograph huge moments in peoples lives from the beginning to end and all in between .. that is what fills my soul.
Now this family in particular. A little rewind to 2+ years ago when we photographed maternity photos for their first miracle baby. A baby they were told they were never going to have. Fast forward to this year. Baby number two .. a baby that was surely not on the radar as they had comfortably knew that Liv was their miracle and when you get one miracle, the heart is usually right full. Their story of having a family was filled with heartache, but let’s just say their home is bursting with love with two littles that they were pretty sure they’d never have. These are two people that are the most deserving of good things and so to be a part of these moments with Heather and Nathan, I am forever thankful.
10 days over due and landing in what could have been the most INSANE few weeks of my year .. baby held off and came when my sessions came to a bit of a halt. A 6.5 hour drive to Lloydminster in a bit of a fun snowstorm 😉 on a whim that baby would come that afternoon. Nathan told me to be in town for around 4:30 .. and not even a few minutes after I arrived I got the message “there’s a baby!” Perfect timing I must say. This was a session I have never done, but one that I LOVED. I got to the hospital in time to see Nathan bringing baby, and the nurse bringing Heather to greet their families to introduce their little handsome man. World, this is Beau.
I can’t thank you both enough for having me document the literal first moments of life with Beau, meeting his family, and being blanketed with love immediately. I love you guys and Liv + Beau are two of the luckiest kids to have such rad parents as you both. xoxoxo
