I received an email from Laura back in May asking if I would photograph her and Theo’s wedding in August. I was in Jamaica at that point in time, and though I usually meet up with all of my couples before hand, I didn’t even hesitate for a second and went against all my rules and just said yes. Am I grateful. HECK YES.
We met for the first time just weeks before the wedding for their engagement session, and the love those two shared for each other was beautiful. A ten year relationship, a strong, undeniable bond .. and I knew their wedding day would be beautiful.
I started the day off with the guys + Theo’s sister. Dealing with the groom and his party are always a highlight to my day. Most have never worn half of their attire before, so mass confusion always has me putting down my camera to help. In stepped Jose, and I never had to put the camera down once .. I just went about my business – which mostly consisted of laughing. Everything about this day was SO relaxing. Everyone did their part with no questions, ensuring Laura + Theo were taken care of every step of the way.
Right before we headed to the church, Laura pulled all of her people in to give a little pep talk – a thank you, a pre I love you, thank you for being here speech. I had to keep the tears from streaming down my face as it was the SWEETEST moment I have ever witnessed. She took the time – regardless if it was making her late – to thank her girls and her family for standing beside her on this special day. These two, throughout the entirety of the photo session, would take the time, make the time, to have SO much fun with their bridal party. It was the most genuine group of souls and you two couldn’t have chosen better people to stand next to you. The love was infectious.
Now. Laura + Theo. You two have an ease and elegance between you – you can’t make it up, you can’t fake it, you can’t create it without it genuinely being there. You two have found a true love in each other and I am so grateful that I was able to photograph it. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
A little look into their day.
