Van der Merwe Family || Slave Lake AB Newborn Photographer

Two months ago I visited this beautiful couple and their teeny little boy (click on that link to see!), Marc, in a tiny hospital room.  Marc came early and all of Marili’s plans of a beautiful maternity session went right out the window .. but he was healthy and happy and that’s all that really mattered at the end of the day.  A few weeks ago I caught up with them again at their amazing home on Slave Lake.  Marc has grown SO MUCH, and it was so nice to see the little guy not hooked up to any cords and mom and dad settling into life with their new little man.  Marili’s mom was nearing the end of her stay and heading back to South Africa, so we got to take some photos with her and her first grand baby.  THANK YOU all for being so sweet, for inviting me in like family and for having me document this time in your lives.

Lastly – Chris convinced Marili to slip into her maternity gown that she was so excited to be photographed in before plans heavily changed .. and though she said no about 20 times to the both of us, it was a beautiful little moment that she got to enjoy.
